MOVE IN PROCESS

Upon moving in, you want to connect your TV to the TV service installed in your apartment. Follow the Installation Directions to connect you TV to the set top box installed in your living room. If you want one remote to control the set top box and your TV power and volume, program the set top box remote to your TV. Be sure to keep the original TV remote in a safe place. For your bedroom, complete a channel scan to store the community channels on your TV.

Oftentimes, when your TV service is not working properly, it is a simple fix. To help speed up resolving the issue, please refer to the links below to see if there’s a solution: rebooting the equipment, completing a channel scan or correcting your TV. You will have the option in recording a single program or a show series. Once you purchase a DVR, you will receive a set top box and a new remote control.

Service upgrade instructions

  1. Once you’ve decided to upgrade and move forward with a DIRECTV package or DVR, fill out the Service Upgrade form.

  2. Once you submit the Service Upgrade form, we will contact you to confirm your submission and get any additional information we need to upgrade your service.

  3. We will help set up a DIRECTV account for you and ensure the correct equipment is purchased. While you are waiting for the equipment, you still have access to the community lineup.

  4. Once we can confirm when the equipment will arrive, we will let you know and explain the installation process. When the equipment arrives, you will receive a set top box and a new remote. The remote control guide is available above listed under the upgrade option.

  5. Once you’re TV service is upgraded, you can start watching and recording your favorite programs. Managing your recordings is listed above under the upgrade option.

When I move in to my apartment, how can I start watching TV?

We’ve tried to ease the move in process for you. Your apartment is equipped with a set top box and remote installed in your living room. To start enjoying your TV service, connect your TV to the TV service system following the installation instructions . For your bedroom, you will simply connect your TV to the wall outlet with a coax cable and complete a channel scan. If you want one remote control to adjust your TV power and volume, follow the program your remote instructions. Please do not discard your original TV remote.

How can I use one remote to control my TV and set top box?

If you want the set top box remote to control your TV power and volume, follow the instructions to program the set top box remote to your TV. Be sure to keep the original TV remote in a safe place.
