DIRECTV DVR UPGRADE

Are you looking to record your favorite programs and watch them on your schedule? You can purchase a DVR and begin recording from the community channel lineup. You have the capability in recording a single program or a show series. Once you purchase a DVR, you will receive a set top box which stores your recordings and a new remote controlling the new box.

DIRECTV PACKAGE UPGRADE

Are you looking for additional programming and the opportunity to record? We offer the option to purchase a DIRECTV channel package. You will receive a set top box and a new remote. The set top box will come with the program package you’ve selected and stores your recordings. Your entire apartment will be upgraded to the DIRECTV package.

Service upgrade instructions

  1. Once you’ve decided to upgrade and move forward with a DIRECTV package or DVR, fill out the Service Upgrade form.

  2. Once you submit the Service Upgrade form, we will contact you to confirm your submission and get any additional information we need to upgrade your service.

  3. We will help set up a DIRECTV account for you and ensure the correct equipment is purchased. While you are waiting for the equipment, you still have access to the community lineup.

  4. Once we can confirm when the equipment will arrive, we will let you know and explain the installation process. When the equipment arrives, you will receive a set top box and a new remote. The remote control guide is available above listed under the upgrade option.

  5. Once you’re TV service is upgraded, you can start watching and recording your favorite programs. Managing your recordings is listed above under the upgrade option.

  • Detailed above, under Service Upgrade Instructions, you will get a better idea of the overall upgrade process. Once you’ve decided to upgrade, fill out the Service Upgrade form and we will contact you to make sure we have all the information we need to process the service upgrade. Once we can confirm when the equipment will arrive, we will let you know what the next steps are. You can also give us a call at 1(800) 574-5756.

  • If you decide to purchase additional programming, once the new DIRECTV package is installed in your apartment, you will no longer have access to the community channel lineup. Your entire apartment will be upgraded to the package. Your lineup is based on the package you’ve chosen. If you decide you no longer want the upgrade, we can uninstall the service and you can watch the community channel lineup. If you’ve purchased a DVR to record the community channels, you will always have access to the channel lineup.

  • Go to the Location Webpage and find your location. Once you find your location, you will see the community channel lineup, theater lineup, music lineup and welcome letter. The community channel lineup includes all of the channels installed in the building.

  • With either of the DIRECTV set top box options listed above, you will be able to record up to 5 shows at once. While you’re watching TV, you can still record your favorite program. If your storage disk is full, you will no longer be able to record new shows. You must delete some of your recordings to provide more space in your storage.  Learn how to record and manage your recordings from the documentation listed above.

  • For either of the upgrade options, you will be given a DIRECTV remote and set top box. You will not be able to use your original TV remote because of the additional functionalities of the DIRECTV remote. A remote control guide detailing all of the button functionalities is listed above under the upgrade option.You must program the set top box remote to control your TV power and volume.

  • When you upgrade, your entire apartment will be switched over to the DIRECTV package. If you want to record in multiple rooms, you must purchase another set top box. A set top box is not required if you’re wanting to watch the DIRECTV package but not record in multiple rooms.

  • Yes, a resident can upgrade their service at anytime when they are ready. Simply call the 1 (800) 574-5756 or fill out the Service Upgrade form and we will contact you to get any further information we need to upgrade your service.
